Our Reception and Customer Care Team

Melissa, Office Manager

Before joining our team, Melissa had 17 years of experience in dentistry. Because she loves making people happy, she is a perfect fit for her job, taking care of our patients’ needs. She earned her Dental Radiology License in New Jersey, and she knows how to make our practice run smoothly.

Melissa has one son, Sean, who is her pride and joy, and she also has two cats. She is certified in Reiki Level II. In her spare time, you’ll find her reading, gardening, running, or hiking. Don’t be surprised to hear her talking in different accents around the office!

Tara, Assistant Manager

Tara resides in Bucks County and has been with the practice for over 20 years. She has grown with the practice as a treatment coordinator and dental assistant. She graduated from Bucks County Technical School in 2014. Her passion is making patients feel comfortable during their dental treatment.

In her spare time, Tara enjoys spending time with her husband and two beautiful children. Tara loves watching her son wrestle and horse-back riding with her daughter.

Debbie, Assistant Office Manager

Debbie graduated from Delaware Dental School for Dental Assisting in 1991 with a 4.0 average. She started working with the Dentists of Newtown the same year and is proficient in all aspects of General Dentistry as well as all specialties.

Debbie started her career with The Dentists of Newtown as the Clinical Supervisor and is currently Assistant Manager to our multi group practice, working closely with our amazing staff. Debbie enjoys bird watching and is amazed at all of the wonders of nature and how all animals intertwine. She particularly loves wildcats, the Bengal tiger being the most amazing to her.

Ann Marie, Bookkeeper

Ann Marie, an integral member of our Dentists of Newtown family, has worked in the accounting field for over 30 years. While you may not see Ann Marie front and center in our office on your visits to our practice, Ann Marie is behind the scenes keeping our practice on track and current ‎in the bookkeeping department.

In her spare time, Ann Marie enjoys her beach home, spending time with her grandchildren and exploring genealogy‎.

Katie, Treatment Coordinator

Katie has been with the practice for 20 years. She is a treatment coordinator for our front desk staff and is also a dental assistant. She lives in Holland with her husband and two children. She enjoys reading and spending time with her family.

Ginny, Treatment Coordinator

Ginny has been with the practice since 1992! She enjoys spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her dog.

Ila, Treatment Coordinator

Ila is a treatment coordinator for our front desk staff. She enjoys helping patients have a positive experience. Her favorite part of working at The Dentists of Newtown is her amazing manager and team.

In her free time, she enjoys reading, yoga, and cuddling her Bassett Hound, Betty!

Yelena, Treatment Coordinator 

Prior to joining the team at The Dentist of Newtown, Yelena had already acquired over 10 years of experience as a Dental Receptionist. She enjoys working with people and being part of a great team. In her spare time, she likes to spend time outdoors and reading.

Chris, Insurance Coordinator/ Accounts Receivables Specialist

Chris has been in the dental and orthodontic fields since 2001 in various positions. She has one daughter, Justine, who is the light of her life. Chris is the Lay Leader at her church and a facilitator at their grief support group. She is also a victims rights advocate. In Phillies territory, she’s not afraid to proclaim her love for The Mets. She’s a native New Yorker from The Bronx and loves working with us


Dental Hygienists

Keyna, RDH

Keyna has more than 30 years of experience in dental hygiene; she graduated from Temple University in 1975. She continues to participate in continuing education courses, conferences, and seminars on a regular basis to stay current with the most recent advances and developments in the dental field. She also stays informed through publications and peer discussion, and she renews her certification in CPR every two years. Keyna is a member of the American Dental Hygiene Association and Pickering Manor Auxiliary, and she is on the board of directors of the Newtown Historic Association. For each patient at The Dentists of Newtown, she strives to deliver quality oral care and educate our patients in optimum oral health.

Keyna and her husband, Casey, have been married for 37 years. They have two sons, Kevin (29) and Kyle (26). One of Keyna’s favorite hobbies is quilting.

Karin, RDH

As a longtime resident of Newtown, Karin has been in the dental profession since 1993, when she first began as a trained dental assistant with the same core group of dentists here at The Dentists of Newtown. Wanting to further her career, she pursued a degree in dental hygiene. Karin graduated with an Associate of Science degree in dental hygiene from Harcum College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, in 1998.

Since graduating, she has felt privileged to continue her employment as a dental hygienist with our group of dentists and colleagues to this day. Karin is always active in furthering her knowledge of her profession by regularly attending and participating in continuing education classes. She finds it important to be in touch with current dental trends and updates.

Karin’s approach as a dental hygienist is to be gentle but thorough. She realizes that the dental chair is no one’s favorite place to be, yet it is so important to our overall health. She strives to provide compassion and detailed explanations of what needs to be done in order to make the patient feel they are most comfortable. Karin always works to educate our patients in proper home care and habits to help them achieve better oral health. She feels any tidbit of information can possibly be a motivator to help our patients when they leave the office.

Karin has been happily married to her husband, Jeff, for 17 years. They are parents to three wonderful children, Noelle, Charles, and James, who keep them busy yet beyond happy on a daily basis! When Karin is not at a baseball field, basketball court, or track/cross country course for her children’s activities, she enjoys practicing yoga, cooking, hiking, music, the beach, and traveling with her family.

Carrie, RDH

Carrie graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Penn State in 2003. She then attended dental hygiene school at the Community College of Philadelphia, graduating in 2006. Carrie works to provide quality dental care to all of our patients and to educate them on proper oral hygiene and other aspects of their dental needs. Her highest priority is that every patient have an experience that is as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. To stay abreast of the latest advances and research in dentistry, Carrie takes at least 20 credits of continuing education every two years, in addition to renewing her certification in CPR every two years.

In her spare time, Carrie enjoys reading, physical fitness, dancing, and traveling.

Bridget, RDH

Bridget had 8 years of experience when she joined our team in November 2020. She attended Manor College to become a registered dental hygienist and she also has her local anesthesia license. Bridget
also won the coveted Hu-Friedy Golden scaler at graduation 😀 Her favorite part of working at The Dentists of Newtown is helping people have a healthy smile and her relationship with coworkers. Bridget currently lives in Hatboro Horsham with her husband, Cori, and their 95lb golden retriever mix, named Fletcher. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking with her dog to explore new places, going to the shore and swimming in her pool in the summer. One interesting fact about Bridget is that she has 47 first cousins; her dad is one of thirteen children!

Melissa, RDH

Melissa joined Dentists of Newtown over a year ago and has been a registered dental hygienist for 21 years. She is excited to serve the community that she has lived in her whole life!

She is passionate about patient care and education and loves the professional relationships she has formed with her patients and their families. When she is not at work, you’ll find her out and about in the community with her husband and 2 kids, running to sports and lots of social events. She is an avid Philadelphia sports fan!!

Brenda, RDH

Brenda happily joined the Dentists of Newtown in 2021 as a Dental Hygienist.  She brought with her 25 years of experience as a Dental Assistant and over 20 years as a Dental Hygienist. She has practiced in various dental settings including Pediatric, Periodontal and General Dental offices. She is very passionate about educating and treating patients with respect and at the same time keeping them as comfortable as possible while helping them maintain or achieve a healthy smile.                                              

She has been married to her husband, Bob, for over 43 years and has two daughters and four beautiful grandchildren she loves to spend time with. Her favorite things to do in her spare time are to spend time with family, as well as gardening, hiking, yoga and traveling.

Emily, RDH

Emily attended Manor College for her Dental Hygiene degree. She is also licensed to administer local anesthesia. Her favorite part of being a hygienist is making her patients happy. She strives to make each patient feel comfortable in her chair and have them leave with a healthier, clean smile.

In her free time, Emily enjoys spending time with family and friends. She loves seeing country bands and attending country music concerts. A fun fact about Emily is she has 2 different colored eyes!

Carisa, RDH

Carisa joined the Dentists of Newtown, Sycamore Street Family in 2017. She became a local of Bucks County in 2000 moving to Yardley from Northern Central Pennsylvania.  She earned her Associate of applied Science, Dental Hygiene at MCCC.

Carisa has been a Dental Hygienist for 15 years and loves being an integral part of the dental profession.  She is passionate about her career and her efforts are focused on patient care.  With each visit, Carisa’s goal is to make her patients feel welcomed and at ease.  All of her patients receive individual attention ensuring that they gain comprehensive knowledge regarding their own oral care.  Carisa stays current with the latest advancements in the dental field by participating in Continuing Education Courses and Dental Conferences.  She also keeps her CPR/AED certification current.

In her free time, Carisa enjoys exploring the outdoors, traveling abroad, and would someday like to sail in the Mediterranean and visit Croatia.  She was sailing certified in Fort Myers, FL in 2012.  She is an avid animal lover and enjoys spending time with her little ray of light; puppy-dog, Clovis.

Stacy, RDH

Stacy graduated from Community College of Philadelphia in 2006 as a dental hygienist. Stacy loves communicating with patients- not just about their dental health, but also their hobbies, careers, and their lives. She likes to really get to know them as people, not just their teeth! Stacy has one daughter, named Ivy, who is 14 years old. When she’s not working, Stacy enjoys watching her daughter on the field – playing either softball or soccer. Stacy’s hobbies are kickboxing and attending concerts. She has an English Bulldog named Willow, who she says is her second child!


Dental Assistants

Donna, Dental Assistant

Donna Schumann attended Prodent Dental Careers and has been a Dental Assistant for over 25 years. Donna specializes in assisting in Oral Surgery and Periodontics. She lives in Perkasie with her husband and 2 daughters. She loves to bake, read and spend time with her family enjoying the outdoors.

Colleen, Dental Assistant

Colleen has lived in Bucks County for 25 years and has been a Dental Assistant since 2006. Colleen enjoys working with the specialists here in our office. Her main priority is to make patients feel comfortable and at ease during their visit. Colleen has two beautiful daughters and a supportive husband. In her spare time, she enjoys going for runs, reading, and spending time with her children outdoors on the quad. Colleen is madly in love with her “BULLDOG” Cash.

Nicole, Dental Assistant

Nicole was in the dental field for 10 years before she joined us at The Dentists of Newtown in 2020. She attended Saint Hubert Catholic High School in Philadelphia and graduated in 2012, then pursued her dental career by attending Everest Institute in Bensalem for dental assisting. Nicole says, “My favorite things about my job are the people I work with! I have never been in such a caring and loving work environment. I look forward to coming to work every day and treating our wonderful patients!” She currently lives in Philadelphia with her two sons, Greyson and Avery. They have a corgi puppy named Peaches! She loves the springtime, when she says she cannot get outside with her kids and puppy enough. They love going on walks, hikes, and adventures.

Dana, Orthodontic Assistant

Dana had 13 years of dental experience, when she joined out team in 2017. Her favorite thing about being part of the team at Brookwood is interacting with the amazing staff and patients! Working at Brookwood is like working with family. Dana lives in Philadelphia, with her husband (John) and their 3 daughters (Ainsley, Maddy and Gracie). In her spare time, Dana loves spending time at the beach!

Kimberly, Dental Assistant 

Kim resides in New Jersey and has recently graduated from dental assisting program at Mercer County Community College. She has plans to further her education to become a hygienist.

Kim is planning her wedding and will soon be married. In her spare time, she enjoys tending to her plants, cooking, and loving her dogs.

Barbara, Dental Assistant 

Barbara has been in the dental field for ten years. She first started her dental journey when she was pregnant with her first child and wanted a career change. Her favorite part about dentistry is helping others improve oral health and meeting a lot of interesting people. In Barbara’s down time she likes to garden and explore different parks with her family.

Alyssa, Dental Assistant 

Alyssa attended Smile Systems School of Dental Assisting and has been assisting for two years now. She works alongside her sister Jenna, and also has a twin sister. Her favorite thing about her job is meeting new patients and making them feel confident in their smiles. In her free time, she enjoys cooking and spending time with family.

Jenna, Dental Assistant

Jenna has been a dental assistant since 2019 and grew up in Mount Laurel, NJ. Now, she resides in Buck County with her husband, Andrew; newborn daughter, Luna; and her border collie/ lab mix, Sirius. She graduated from Burlington County College in 2018 and received an Associates of Science degree. Then she pursued her dental career by attending Smilesystems School in Hatfield, PA and graduated in 2019. In her spare time, she enjoys taking walks with her baby, going to the beach, and traveling. She is also a huge Harry Potter Fan!
